Questions & Answers

What will participants experience during Hope Heals at Home?

Hope Heals at Home will offer conversations with Katherine and Jay, biblical messages from special guests, small conversation groups, topical breakout sessions, worship time, special youth programming, communal meals, special gifts delivered to participants' homes, and opportunities for real-life connection.

In the weeks leading up to Hope Heals at Home, we will offer special opportunities to connect with your Camp family, like a pen pal program and submission-based competitions on social media.

Why was Hope Heals Camp moved to a virtual format?

Our highest commitment is to the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of our Camp community. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated health risks to both healthy and medically fragile people, we have determined that the wisest way to offer resources, relationships, and rest in 2020 is to connect virtually rather than in-person. Additionally, Hope Heals Camp utilizes the skills and presence of many healthcare workers. In a year when our healthcare heroes are more in-demand than ever, we want our volunteers to be available to serve in hospitals and clinics during this time.

While we are grieving the opportunity to see our Camp family in person this year, we are choosing to see the amazing possibilities for expanding the accessibility of resources and connection through Hope Heals at Home.

What will happen to the tuitions paid for and fundraised by volunteers?

Hope Heals Camp tuition covers the cost of room and board for our volunteers and begins subsidizing the cost of camper room and board so campers can attend for FREE. While our 2020 experience will not incur many of the costs of a typical camp session, we are committed to serving our Hope Heals Camp family with life-giving new expressions of resources, rest, and relationships through Hope Heals at Home—and that won’t happen for free! We are offering three refund routes for volunteers and donors to creatively invest their 2020 tuition: (1) Convert your tuition into a tax-deductible donation, (2) receive a 75% refund or (3) defer your tuition to 2021.

Will Hope Heals Camp return in 2021?

While no one can make guarantees in a time like this, we are prayerful and optimistic that Hope Heals Camp will return in 2021.

Who can participate in Hope Heals at Home?

At this time, we’re exclusively offering Hope Heals at Home to volunteers and campers who applied for a spot at Hope Heals Camp 2020. We hope to launch a version of Hope Heals at Home to a wider audience at a later date, but we ask that the experience remain in the Hope Heals Camp community for now.

What are the technology requirements for participating in Hope Heals at Home?

Participation in Hope Heals at Home will require an Internet connection and an Internet-connected device.

Will Hope Heals at Home be available after the livestream event?

If participants are unable to watch Hope Heals at Home Live, recordings will be available after the live event weekend.
