Pampering the Ladies

As a mom, it can be hard to take time to do things for yourself.  There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to do all that needs to be done for the kids, husband, and household, so naturally, there's not usually a ton of time left over to do many things for yourself.  About 2 years ago, we settled in Culver City and began leading the "New Parents" group at Bel Air Pres, and I had an idea.  Why can't we enjoy a playdate with the kids while also pampering ourselves a bit too?  Kind of kill two birds with one stone, right?  "Pamper the Ladies with the Babies" was the result!

A friend of a friend, Katie Ladner, is our traveling esthetician, and she is fabulous (email me if you want her info; she is so sweet)!  She drives up from Orange County to give any of us who wants it spray tans, waxing, facials, etc.  Her traveling spa sets up right in my bathroom, living room, and backyard.

The sweetest part of this is that in a very "it takes a village" kind of way, while one mommy gets her eyebrows waxed, another mommy holds her baby.  It's one of those circumstances that we rarely get, particularly living in LA.  Gathering lots of different mommies, some from church and some not, into someone's home, enticed by the thought of a little pampering, maybe some chocolate, and connecting with other mommies and their little ones.  It's been one of my favorite events by far!
