Summer's Gone

Despite unseasonably hot temperatures in LA the past month, I suppose it is technically Fall, at least on the calendar.  Don't get me wrong, Fall is probably one of my favorite times of year, for sure; however, I'm already kind of missing the Summer.  I suppose the leg break and the heavy pain meds have left me feeling like the end of Summer never really happened.

Like many times in life that are "less than ideal", it is sometimes a great blessing to be able to just forget them, but I think it's important to reflect on and appreciate the really good moments in the midst of and surrounding those awful times, rather than just allowing everything to be tainted by the bad.  In truth, parts of the Summer were some of the worst I've experienced in a long time, but at the same token, other parts of it, were some of the sweetest.  Perhaps a bit selfishly, the next few postings will be our reflections on this Summer, helping us to set the Summer of 2012 in our memories for what it truly was...the bad but also the good.
